I would like to personally invite you to an informal cocktail event being held at Gardens House on Wednesday, 24 October. Join other industry colleagues to discuss one of the burning issues facing organisations in 2007—retaining and developing talent within corporate Australia.

Today, learning and development extends far beyond providing basic skills, compliance training and sending people to classrooms. We regularly see more opportunities to develop customised learning programs, enable collaboration over the Web, and support the need for informal development. Ensuring these initiatives remain within our organisation is key in order to maximise our time and financial investment.

As a result, SkillSoft has organised this cocktail event where I will be providing a brief 10 minute practical presentation on how two organisations we interact with are achieving significant results implementing strategies for talent retention. We have also been fortunate enough to also have Tony Gleeson, former Global Head of Learning at Deloitte, spend 10 minutes with us outlining the initiatives Deloitte implemented around talent development.

The evening will also be an opportunity for our Melbourne clients to network with like-minded learning professionals over a cocktail or two. Only a limited number of individuals have been invited to ensure you maximum opportunity to network with your peers. I believe you will gain much insight by discussing current issues with other industry colleagues attending. I very much hope that you can join me at this unique get-together. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience. I look forward to seeing you for a very productive and enjoyable evening.

Yours sincerely,
Glenn Nott, Vice President and Managing Director,
